Using Swagster Is Free & Easy!

Registration - Step 1

To get started with swagster.com, you'll need to register a user ID. It's simple, and shouldn't take more than about 2 minutes.

When registering a user ID, you can select between a 'Basic' level of access, and a Premium Membership. The basic user ID is 100% free, and the Premium Membership is $5.00

With the free 'basic' membership, you can trade as many cd's as you want, and there is no cost for doing so from Swagster.com. The Premium membership includes the same features as the basic, however, it also includes traders insurance, the ability to leave feedback for other members, and preferred ranking in search engine results!

Build Your Online Music Catalog - Step 2

After you've registered your user ID, you can build your catalog of music you own. Through the library management screen, you can add, edit, or delete music from your personal library.

Other Users will browse your music library, and will submit a trade offer if you own a CD they want.

Request Music You Want - Step 3

After you have registered a user ID, you can immediately begin sending other swagster.com members trade offers for music you are interested in.

While browsing music on the website, you can click on the 'trade now' link next to any cd in the catalog. After initiating a trade offer, you will be prompted to select a CD from your catalog to offer as your half of the trade offer. If the trade recipient doesn't like your CD that you are offering as your part of the exchange, they will have the option to send you a counter-offer (you will be given the opportunity to accept or reject the trade offer).

Monitor your Trade Activity - Step 4

After you send another member a trade offer, you will have the ability to monitor the status of the trade offer in the 'trade history' screens. Trade history section will contain details about your accepted, rejected, initiated, and counter-offer trades.

After you accept a trade offer, or after another member accepts one of your trades, the addresses of both parties will be visible in the 'trade history' areas.

In addition to monitoring the status of trades, you will also be notified via our email alert system when trade activity exists on your account. With the email alert system, you won't miss out on any pending trade offers that are waiting for you!

Ship Your CD - Step 5

After you've completed the trade offer process, and a trade has been agreed to by both parties, you are ready to ship your CD.

With Swagster.com, there is no fee to trade music, and you can trade an unlimited number of CD's per month, regardless of your membership status. When shipping CD's, you are not required to use special labels or envelopes and swagster.com does not get involved in the shipping or receiving process, however, we do highly recommend that you use the swagster.com envelopes, but are by no means required to do so.

When trading CD's, you are only required to trade the original CD, not the artwork and jewel case unless otherwise agreed to by both traders.

When trading CD's using the Swagster.com envelopes, the postage should typically not exceed $.50. To ensure that your CD makes it to your trade partner in one piece, you must include a blank CD or a second CD for the purpose of adding additional strength to the envelope. If you fail to do this, the postage stamping machines may damage the disk. It is also strongly suggested that you write 'FRAGILE - HAND - SORT' on the outside of the envelope in very bold writing.
